The Hotel Schachner in Hinterglemm
The 3-star Hotel Schachner is a family business. Everyone lends a hand, and three generations work together to ensure that guests from all over the world enjoy a relaxing and wonderful holiday. In addition to the perfect location in the heart of Hinterglemm, the Schachner family impress with their warm hospitality, loving attention to detail and numerous extras for a wonderful stay with the best mountain views. And all of that for almost 70 years!
The foundations of today’s hotel
In 1955, Otto Schachner buys the plot of land on which today’s Hotel Schachner stands. Together with his wife Katharina, he builds a bed and breakfast with five rooms. The showers and toilets are located in the corridor. In the following years, the hotel is repeatedly remodelled and expanded to meet the increasing requirements of the guests – mainly Austrians and Germans at the time.
The Schachner family is building something new!
To meet the ever-increasing demand, the decision is made in 1979 that the existing building must make way for a larger new building. A facility is built that can accommodate 50 people with maximum comfort. In addition to the rooms with bathrooms and toilets, a cosy dining room, a spacious kitchen, a reception, an office, large storage rooms, a laundry room, a ski cellar and a spa area are built.
The following years
Since then, the hotel has been constantly modernised, renovated and redesigned. Time never stands still for the Schachner family – the breaks between the winter and summer seasons are used to constantly implement new ideas and offer our guests the best comfort and finest amenities. In addition to the ‘hardware’, we are also constantly working on the ‘software’. Thus, you can enjoy the best services at the Hotel Schachner, such as the JOKER CARD, great bike extras and much more, already included in the price!
The Schachner family today
In 2023, almost 70 years after Elisabeth’s grandfather Otto bought the land to lay the foundations for today’s hotel, Elisabeth Schachner runs the business with her partner Franz and her parents Martha and Hansi. Their three children Sophie, Rosalie and David are always on board. They all pull together to ensure that all their guests have an unforgettable time.
